It has been over a year since I started to posting on tiktok. I have many doubt and fall attitude of “ eewww tiktok “
Okay, hear me out. I know coming from YouTube, Instagram, and the good old days of Facebook. We viewers have… standards. That one takes a super sloppy and “don’t care” kind of attitude dance video. It won’t even get one second of my attention. But that is the kind of the beauty of TikTok. What! Because the technical entry requirement is Low, anyone with a handphone has a fair chance of creating!
Anyone has a fair chance to make it… big.
After trying to “make it” on multiple platforms, YouTube, Instagram, and the dying Facebook, I didn’t have any success. After multiple resistance toward the tiktok. I finally decided to give it a try. Oh boy, ain’t I glad I did what I did
Because it is so easy to create videos on TikTok, in the first month, I was uploading 3-4 videos a day and five days a week. The account didn’t grow anything for a good few months. I am discouraged and, of course, disappointed. But, a little voice, well, more like.. my husband, nagged me to keep on going
So I did
Yes, it finally happened. I got my first 10k followers on TikTok! It was an encouragement, and I finally felt my content was getting people’s attention. So I just kept on creating!
Then something unexpected happened. I had my first viral video. This video has generated about 2.6 million views which push my followers to 110k followers.
Shortly after, I was invited to be part of the TikTok creator community. Tiktok has conducted workshop , tips and creators who have a colossal following to share their tips and experience.
Conclusion:
Pick your battles and keep on creating.
Be patient. There will be time I think about quitting and take a long break.
But I think because for period of time I was creating 3-4 videos a day, it did help me to have many videos as base to share on other platform such as youtube
So post your content on multiple platforms, even if it is repeated content. Hey, you spend time creating them, right?
