Hey guys, welcome back to another blog about my bikini prep. Oh my goodness, my hands are literally shaking every week when I am writing the blog because I know it is getting closer and closer to competition day! Okay if you haven’t read my 6 weeks out blog, you can click on here, for my 7 weeks out blog you can click on here.
Okay, let’s talk about food!

Since it is 5 weeks out, it is GO time. This week I have ordered my competition bikini and new competition shoes. Next week, I can talk about how much it costs to compete.
As the calorie intakes becomes more and more restricted, I must say to diet down in Singapore is very difficult. There are not many “diet friendly” food options you can find in the super market. Back home in United States, believe it or not there are many low calorie options for many of our favourite foods including ice cream, bread, greek yogurt at price of less than 1 USD. So you just need to find whatever you can.

The one on the left is the zero calories barbecue sauce. Traditional barbecue sauce has more calories than you need if you are on competition prep diet. Walden farms has many options for low calories sauce, syrup, dip, dressing, etc. Taste wise, I would give it 7/10 as it definitely has the taste of barbecue sauce but you can tell it is still far inferior from the regular sauce.
Caramel syrup on the right has zero calories. Wow you can do so many things with this! You can put it on your rice cakes, mix with your oats and protein, or even put it on your bread. If you are adventurous type, you can mix your expresso with syrup to make your own low calorie caramel latte (definitely can’t come anywhere close to Starbucks caramel latte). Taste wise, I will give 8/10 because it is still does not taste like actual caramel. But when you are on diet, anything tastes good. Plus I am not really a caramel person so for me, I think it is pretty good.
Say goodbye to boring chicken breast and fish! If you are looking for no sodium seasoning options, then Mrs. Dash has many options for your own personal tastes! Those 3 are just my personal favourites. I give it 10/10 for making your meal more interesting. Who doesn’t love Mexican food? The fiesta lime definitely brings you some South America flavour to your dish.
Caramel dip can take your rice cake and dry sweet potatoes chips to a totally different level. If you hate rice cakes, say hello to caramel dip from Walden. I will give it 10/10! You can put it on fruits as well.
Dr. Jekyll is my husband’s favourite and I tried it several times, it definitely wake your brain up! Taste wise, I give Jerkyll 8/10, the blue berry is good but I notice it doesn’t blend very well, you still can see the little white chunks floating in your drink.
BPI really has the best tasting BCAA. You can drink it on the go or during your workout. Reward yourself with sweet taste of peach after each set.
With Red Bull sugar free energy drink, I will only take this a couple of times a week. Some people really like the blue monster energy drink. I used to like Monster but after a guy from Florida found a dead baby rat in his Monster, since then I have stopped drinking Monster drink.
When you are on diet, volume is key.
There are few choices of food that can give you volume but have very little calories, such as green leafy vegetables, celery, mushrooms, etc. Mushrooms are my favourite as it has good source of fiber, mineral, vitamin C. Since it doesn’t have specific taste with it when you cook it, it can pick up the taste from other foods. For 100g of mushroom it is only 13kcal.

Where can you find those products?
I usually order mine through iherb (Disclaimer: Iherb never paid me anything to recommend them.), it ships straight to Singapore within 3-5 business days. As for BCAA you can order them from Nutrifirst. Here is the promotion code for Nutrifirst: BAJEXNF to get 15% off on your next purchase.
I hope you do find my blog interesting. If you do, please follow. Thank you for reading it. 🙂
