NABBA Singapore November Bikini Competition Peak Week and Show Day! Part Two

It just happened so fast!

The day before the competition I prepared the food I was going to eat during the morning of my competition as well as what to have just right before my turn to be on stage. But the reality is everything is just happened so fast before I grasped and experience the entire competition. No matter how much I practiced and kept telling myself to slow down during my posing routine, I was still rushing through the routine. So my advice for any of ladies who are competing, practice your posing slow, really take each pose and paused for good 5 seconds when you are moving on to the next. I guess that will come with practice.

The NABBA WFF Singapore was hosted in Scape Theatre right in the heart of Singapore, if you are an oversea competitor, don’t worry it is the location that can be easily accessed. There are plenty hotels, shopping malls, and many major chain gyms near by.

Getting ready in the back stage.

There are 3 locker rooms just behind the stage since there are always more male competitors so usually the the biggest room will be assigned to male competitors. You can bring one helper with you back stage and that person can be your coach, trainer, make up artist, photographer, or even a friend and you do need to purchase a supporter pass from NABBA Singapore. There is back stage bathroom for men and women just between the two dressing rooms so you don’t need worry about walking through the audience to go to the bathroom.

I think the things I like the most is the participation in the competition with your friends and family and watch them win! For this competition, my friend Midori won her class and I am so happy for her because as a friend, we get to see the all of the hard work, struggle, frustration finally pay off. To see someone who has given up so much to win something she always wanted really lets you believe in hard work and dedication.

My husband Jeff was on this journey with me. It was new territory for our marriage because it is the first time that we would be doing this together. There were many days I was concerned with fact what if Jeff doesn’t win or doesn’t place at all, will he be okay with the outcome after all the hard work, training, time sacrifices he has putted in? There were many doubts and conversations between us and finally we came to the agreement to do the best that we can and not to focus on the end results. I am very proud that Jeff did very well in this class, he placed first in sports model over 30 years old and second place in sports model tall open (many competitors are around age of 20-24 years old considering he is 36 this year).

What is the next?

More competitions? Actually I don’t really know and I really haven’t thought too much what to do after this competition. I do feel the achievement through this competition. I was in the bikini competition back in February this year and there were about 8 ladies in my class. Unfortunately, I placed second to last however I didn’t let the results get to my head but rather I focused on training myself to do better. This time around, I was in the first call out in bikini short open (top 6) but in bikini short over 30 I won third place! I am very proud of the results and it is just the re-enforcement of doing the hard work that brings you the results.

My advice to you:

No matter what goal you have in 2017, whether it will be fitness, family, relationship or career, remember that success only goes to the one who refuses to give up. There will be a time where you are in the situation of all odds are against you. Be patient! It is just the part of process. I wish you all the best of luck and I am looking forward to YOUR breakthrough in the year of 2017.

I dedicate this trophy to my family who has not given up on me even if I have given up on myself, and to my husband Jeff, the person who stands right behind me and pushing me no matter what. I am strong because I have you standing right behind me.
